I know, I know, I know.  Reportedly, rumoredly and other adverbly, this could be just another lack of information Apple iPad 3 tease, but then again AllThingsD sometimes does end up having the up and up scoop on things.

So, here she goes, AllThingsD is reporting that Apple will soon be announcing the iPad 3 arrival, most specifically the first week of March in San Francisco.

AllThingsD suggested in their breaking story that Apple will be announcing the arrival of the iPad 3 sometime in the first week of March, where the event will be held in San Francisco. Of course, we would think that the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts would be the venue, as it has been Apple’s preferred location for major announcements in recent times. No idea on whether there will be a concrete date released soon, but since we are just into the second week of February, there is still some time left to churn up those muddy waters of Rumor River and see what one can catch.

What’s your call?   Another in a long line of teases that won’t end up being a solid announcement?  And you know, we haven’t even gotten to the many and more posts about expected release date, now have we?

After all the rumors and promising hopes of how well Siri was reportedly doing on non-iPhone 4S devices it looks like Apple has officially given their word and it’s a big fat NO.  Insert sad face here.

This is more of a let down than usual rumors from the mill given that we had heard that Apple was even testing Siri with their employees’ older iOS devices.  Developer Michael Steeber got the final word from the company with the following reply.

Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue:

Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices.

So while this wasn’t really altogether that surprising since Apple does like to keep their cards to their chest even when the rumors are hitting the fan, it is altogether disheartening.  Should we start rumors of Apple’s plans to do this in secret…?

Following Steve Jobs’ death earlier this month, Apple held a private memorial for the former CEO that was exclusively for Apple employees.  All Apple Stores closed down to allow employees to watch the service that featured the likes of Coldplay and Al Gore via web stream. Now that private event is being made available to us.

Not only celebrities and the infamous speak but also upper management figures who knew Jobs well, including the now-CEO Tim Cook who stressed the importance of grieving but also the importance of not worrying about how Jobs would have steered the company next, something Jobs himself warned others about before he succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

81-minutes of the memorial service are now available for the public at large to view and include Norah Jones and Coldplay performances while Apple employees crowd around the Cupertino campus.  Be sure you watch the video via Safari, as Jobs would have probably wanted.

Woah, if you thought the iPhone 4 did well, the 4S has nothing on this baby.  Just this weekend the next generation iPhone hit more than four million sales, leaving its predecessor in the proverbial dirt.

And not only did weekend sales of the new iPhone make records, but now there is over 25 million users already upgraded to the new iOS 5.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, beamed with pride when he mentioned that the “iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days. iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.

If you made the jump to the new iOS 5 over the weekend then you may be like thousands of others who experienced the Google Voice integration to the new operation system utterly fail.

As of right now Google Voice has been taken off the App Store for the newly updated OS, leaving us all teary-eyed and waiting for the Google Voice team to figure this lil problem out.

According to one user who posted his grievance online, “After updating to iOS 5, the Google Voice app began to crash continuously. It received push notifications perfectly, but I was unable to open the app to see them because it would crash immediately upon opening, before even displaying any graphics.”

Google Voice Product Manager Vincent Paquet is keenly aware of the situation and has “found the sign in bug and have come up with a fix. We are testing it and will release an update as soon as we can.”

Well at least there’s enough on iOS 5 to keep us busy for a while anyway.

The news broke last night that Apple chairman and former CEO Steve Jobs died after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer and the world is going to miss him.  Jobs was just 56 when he passe away Wednesday, October 5, just one day after the iPhone 4S and iCloud was announced.  We mourn this loss and send his family and close friends our heartfelt respect.

If you use a computer, tablet, MP3 player or smartphone today, Jobs is partly to thank with his amazing and seemingly endless bag of tricks.  Steve not only brought computers into the mainstream but also changed the way movies were made, the way music was sold and how we interact with this new technology.  If anything can be said of Jobs, it’s that his mark will not diminish over time.

In fact, anyone interested in starting a Church of Steve?  Who’s with me?  Okay, okay, it’s too soon.  I get that.

Fine, Shakes, what’s in a name really?  But honestly, there is a little something in a name, especially when you thought you were going to get a new phone altogether, not an S version.  We all know how much that didn’t help the iPhone 3GS, right?

Marketing executive Phil Schiller said at the event: “CMOS backside illuminated sensor gets 73% more light than the iPhone 4 sensor, and one-third faster. On top of that, we place a high-end IR filter for greater accuracy and uniformity.”

The HD video will record at 1080p, as opposed to the iPhone 4’s 720p, and will come with real-time video image stabilisation and real-time temporal noise reduction.

The new phone will also feature a voice control system called Siri, which, Schiller explained: “For decades technologists have teased us with this dream that we can talk to our technology. But it’s never come true. It’s such a let-down. What we really want to do is just talk to our device.”

Siri enables users to gain access to a range of information by saying verbal quotations into their phones.

Siri will also read messages aloud when prompted, and allow users to compose them via dictation.

Battery power has also been boosted, enabling up to eight hours of talk time via 3G, fourteen hours of 2G, six hours of 3G browsing and nine hours of WiFi browsing.

Data downloads will now be twice as fast thanks to an improved antenna system.

Available in both black and white, prices will range from $199 for the 16GB model to $299 for a 32GB one.

It will also be the first iPhone to be made available with a 64GB hard drive, costing $399.

As a result, the iPhone 4 will now be reduced to $99, with an 8GB iPhone 3GS available for free on contract.

Pre orders for the iPhone 4S start on October 7, with the model launching on October 14.
