I can’t help it, you guys that are still using BlackBerry handsets are like people that still used DOS many years after Windows was a known entity.  I don’t get it, I don’t understand it and I kinda am over it, but here is some gadgety news for you all the same.

Facebook is now available for your antiquated BlackBerry 2.0 and it’s hot off the press.  Ok, fine, I know, I’m getting tacky, I’ll keep it to a minimum.

The update is a long time coming for BlackBerriers and will bring users up to date on many features that you cats have been missing including Facebook Places for checking into places and scavenging for deals, Facebook Events, Viewing “Likes” and and Privacy control for status updates.

Yep, you’re all up to date now, Berryheads.  Hope you’re happy.

Not only is today the DVD release date of The King’s Speech but also the day that the BlackBerry PlayBook finally sees the light of day.

The BlackBerry PlayBook was supposed to arrive back in Q1 2011, but since RIM made the first few days of Q2, we won’t hold it against them.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is a tablet that packs a 7″ 1024 x 600 display, TI OMAP4 dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GH of RAM, QNX operating system, a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 3 megapixel front facing camera, Adobe Flash and HTML5 support. It is designed for both enterprise users and regular consumers, as evident by the games that come preloaded with the device and RIM’s previous dealings with the enterprise sector – BlackBerry smartphones were what brought RIM to where they are now.

It’s a Friday gadget accessory celebration and you’re invited, along with your BlackBerry Pearl 3G and Flip UltraHD.

The creative folks over at Colorware have created some pretty nifty and colorful, of course, ways to personalize your handsets with these handy dandy though sorta pricey cover solutions.  For $50 you can enhance the coloring of your Flip UltraHD and about $165 to customize your Blackberry Pearl.

Of course you an purchase the individual handsets from Coloware directly, but you’re looking at a steep $640 for the Pearl 3G and $260 for the Flip.  But honestly, our motto is the more personalized and creative the better!

There is so much going on in the video that it’s sorta hard to see what you’ll be getting with the new OS.  We were able to catch glimpses of a Cover Flow music organizer, a framed WebKit browser, onscreen keyboard and Facebook and Twitter clients.

The video was made using touch interface, so it’s been interesting to watch it a few times to see the flow of the system.  What did you think of the new OS vid?

Soon both Android and BlackBerry owners will be able to enjoy versions of the PayPal Bump app where you can send and receive money on the go.  Not surprisingly, there was no mention of a Windows Mobile version.  Wahwahwahhhhh.

Despite the fact that a few of you VW BlackBerry owners can still use the email service in various pockets across the States, the wide majority is going without being able to send and receive emails.  We’re back in the Stone Age with Verizon it would seem.

Verizon is working on the email problem, though the company has not given any idea when the situation will be resolved.

With a 2.0 MP camera, built-in GPS, media player, video recording, SMS/MMS, WiFi support, Blackberry Maps and a  480 x 320 pixel color display, we’re pretty much in love as well.
