The Repoch will be one of the first DVRs to comply with the iVR, Information Versatile Disk, standard Hitachi has set as a benchmark.

The new system will come to you with an integrated tuner, Ethernet connection, two antenna posts, component audio and video and bundled with a 160GB iVR disk for $668.

TiVo has announced a new flagship unit in the HD XL DVR. This new device can hold up to 150 hours of HD recording, THX certification, a Series 3 premium backlit remote, and it even includes HDMI cables.

It is, of course, a dual tuner for recording 2 HD programs simultaneously, and priced at $599.99. Sure, that’s a heck of a lot for a DVR, but man-o-man 150 hours of HD recording? Are you kidding me? If I wasn’t locked into my Dish Network contract for another 6 months I’d be firing up a credit card right now!
