With all the PS3 madness which I believe to be related with making easy cash on Ebay by selling the gaming device for a 400% profit (or more), there are some techniques that should not be used in case you want to make your sales a hit.

For example, including women with provocative poses on the Playstation 3 photos at your Ebay auction is not a good idea. I could say that the majority of gamers and geeks are not interested on the woman but more on the console itself, but that is not the case.

My conclusion: What starts as a good idea to increase sales, turns out to be a misconception of online selling techniques ;P

So, here is the video with examples of how not to sell your Playstation 3, actually it is more of a video with <strike>hot chicks</strike> photos of women and PS3s:

The amount of times I’ve seen this done can be counted on the fingers of one hand, but it’s easy to resize Youtube videos, Google videos, Revver videos, etc. to fit your blogs layout. Here’s a quick and dirty tutorial:

1. Grab the embeddable flash player code for your desired video and look for all instances of width=”425″ height=”350″ within that code.

2. Change the height and width attributes while preserving the H/W Ratio so the video doesn’t become distorted. Since I’m mathematically <strike>lazy</strike> challenged, I simply used a photo editing program to make a 425 wide by 350 high blank image, then used it’s resizing tool to make the width the same as my blog’s content column.

3. This blogs content column is 520px wide, so I changed the width and height attributes of the embedded players code to reflect the new height and width.

4. Then I published it and the video magically shows up filling out the entire width of the column with no big white space area on one side.

You can also do this to shrink the video players down so they fit into side columns of blogs and sites using the same principal. In fact, in a super secret project I’m currently working on, I’ve set up a sideblog in a 250px wide right column with several shrunken video players embedded and it looks awesome.

I see major sites, like news sites, huge gadget and tech blogs, etc. that frequently post videos that look like they’re just sitting “out there” alone in a vast sea of “Duh, I don’t know what to do with this code except for cutting it and pasting” and it looks really odd in my opinion.

Lets hope these guys go the extra mile and do the math, or use a resizing tool to make their blogs look a bit better, and more professional.

P.S. Don’t go digging through the archives here now. I just figured this out a couple days ago. *wink*.

Props to Vladimir Lagovski and Andrei Moiseynko, journalists from Russia that conducted the experience with a successful result. The idea is to “create a simple microwave structure as shown in the picture” and the rest is science working. They came up with interesting results:

40 minutes: The egg became very hot.

The arrival of MacBook on the market made the iPod fans get horny, and why is that? Because they knew that the chance to see the MacBook naked wouldn’t take long. And the iPorn fans were right…

A company that sells/buys Macs and helps users repairing it – iFixIt – didn’t take long to undress the latest Apple product, and while doing it, they also decided to take a couple of photos, and write some instructions.

If you:
- are rich
- or like to disassemble computers
- maybe an iPorn fan

Here are the instructions and photos of how to look inside the MacBook.

Today is the sense of humor day, so I’ll direct you to a comment I found at Digg that made me laugh like the evil person I am:

A question that I read a lot on forums and other sites I visit, is: How can I create my own internet radio station?

That question has an easy answer provided by the Greek Poromenos.

Answer: Download 3 programs, (one of them being Icecast, seen on the image), read the tutorial, change a few settings, and you’re good to go.

It’s really an easy tutorial to follow, in 10/15 minutes you’ll be ready to broadcast and show your friends what you’re worth as a DJ.

Take note:
If you have some free time and a sense of humor, read the Horror Movies Cliches – made by the same person who wrote the tutorial.
