A new iPhone app is headed to the App Store and this one has got our toes a-tingling.  The new $3 Plane Finder app is upgrading their old free application with a new set of tricks.

Now all you have to do is hold up your iPhone to the sky to view the flight number, speed, destination and elevation for planes buzzing overhead.  It finally makes perfect sense that we live next to an airport, doesn’t it?

Monday night Tap Tap Revenge 2 hit the iTunes App Store with a newly vamped look and a few more bells and whistles.

Tap Tap Revenge 2 offers you three gameplay modes- Challenge, Career and Kids mode where you can tap on the screen for pretty visual effects.

Like its predecessor, Revenge 2 will be free, but will now offer 150 downloadable songs.

The new South Park app was rejected by Apple due to “potentially offensive content.”  South Park app offensive?  Nah!

The app was to feature direct links to downloadable South Park videos and wallpapers.

What a sad, sad day.

The Indiana health network has launched a new app for the Apple iPhone and iTouch that will allow patients to manage their prescribed medications as well as their medical information.

The myCommunity Pillbox app is being unveiled this week in Carlsbad, California at the 2nd Annual Leadership Summit on Consumer Connectivity.  myCommunity Pillbox is a free download from the iTunes app store.

Artists are eager to establish their popularity on the Apple App Store, but the financial and time investment it would take to independently develop their own applications, is rather daunting.  That’s where the new Kyte turn-key platform comes in.

With this new iPhone application platform, anyone can create their own apps which include your choice of video and live chat.  Five artists have already partnered with Kyte to start off the platform.  The All American Rejects, Keri Hilson, Lady Gaga, The Pussycat Dolls and Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em are all ready to show off their new apps.

While Kyte is not the first to offer such a platform, it certainly looks the best developed in our opinion.

The full-featured LGBT Travel iPhone app allows users to access maps and reviews of gay-friendly restaurants, beaches, bars and hotels in over 70 cities worldwide. 

The GayCities app is available now at the Apple App Store for free. 

The Georgia Tech app, GT Login, allows students to access several already existing Internet-based campus services.  Users can now get on their iPhone and read campus e-mail, check out which laundry machines are currently available or when the next shuttle bus is headed their direction.

GT Login is a free app that has already risen high with a ranking of 4.5 stars.

Sadly, Apple’s iTunes store has rejected an iPhone application that featured a cartooned Barack Obama, along with 19 other Democrat and Republican characters, that you could bounce on a trampoline.

With the app Obama Trampoline, users could control how high the politicians such as Sarah Palin and Bill Clinton jumped as well as direct them to balloons overhead they could pop.

Apple has not released a statement as to why they have rejected this lighthearted app, but we are sadly disappointed.

Wen set about writing Doodle Kids for the entertainment of his little sisters, only realizing afterwatds the potential for Apple’ iPhone apps. 

The new app allows a user to use their fingers to draw shapes with random colors and designs.  When the iPhone is shaken, the image is erased and you can start all over again.

Wow, guess that makes us all feel a little less smart today…

With the new application Hammer Time lets you follow the rapper’s schedule of activities such as shows and upcoming events, browse his music video archives and event follow MC’s tweets.
