Woah, if you thought the iPhone 4 did well, the 4S has nothing on this baby.  Just this weekend the next generation iPhone hit more than four million sales, leaving its predecessor in the proverbial dirt.

And not only did weekend sales of the new iPhone make records, but now there is over 25 million users already upgraded to the new iOS 5.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, beamed with pride when he mentioned that the “iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days. iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.

If you made the jump to the new iOS 5 over the weekend then you may be like thousands of others who experienced the Google Voice integration to the new operation system utterly fail.

As of right now Google Voice has been taken off the App Store for the newly updated OS, leaving us all teary-eyed and waiting for the Google Voice team to figure this lil problem out.

According to one user who posted his grievance online, “After updating to iOS 5, the Google Voice app began to crash continuously. It received push notifications perfectly, but I was unable to open the app to see them because it would crash immediately upon opening, before even displaying any graphics.”

Google Voice Product Manager Vincent Paquet is keenly aware of the situation and has “found the sign in bug and have come up with a fix. We are testing it and will release an update as soon as we can.”

Well at least there’s enough on iOS 5 to keep us busy for a while anyway.

You could be bringing home a new dual-core A5 processor (same as in the iPad 2), new antenna system that supports up to 14.4Mbps download speeds, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, improved battery life, AirPlay Mirroring support, Siri voice assistant, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 64GB of memory option.

The new and improved iPhone 4 will start shipping October 14th for all three carriers, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.  Pricing begins at $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB.  And praises be, we finally have a white version at the start.

Fine, Shakes, what’s in a name really?  But honestly, there is a little something in a name, especially when you thought you were going to get a new phone altogether, not an S version.  We all know how much that didn’t help the iPhone 3GS, right?

We’re gonna try not to be a stick in the mud and there’s good reason with the iPhone 4S having some pretty solid features on top of finally landing carrier Sprint.

Featuring A5 chip technology which will enable the new iPhone to run run seven times faster than its predecessor, the iPhone 4S will also wow you with a dual core CPU, dual core graphics on top of an eight mega pixel camera.

Marketing executive Phil Schiller said at the event: “CMOS backside illuminated sensor gets 73% more light than the iPhone 4 sensor, and one-third faster. On top of that, we place a high-end IR filter for greater accuracy and uniformity.”

The HD video will record at 1080p, as opposed to the iPhone 4’s 720p, and will come with real-time video image stabilisation and real-time temporal noise reduction.

The new phone will also feature a voice control system called Siri, which, Schiller explained: “For decades technologists have teased us with this dream that we can talk to our technology. But it’s never come true. It’s such a let-down. What we really want to do is just talk to our device.”

Siri enables users to gain access to a range of information by saying verbal quotations into their phones.

Siri will also read messages aloud when prompted, and allow users to compose them via dictation.

Battery power has also been boosted, enabling up to eight hours of talk time via 3G, fourteen hours of 2G, six hours of 3G browsing and nine hours of WiFi browsing.

Data downloads will now be twice as fast thanks to an improved antenna system.

Available in both black and white, prices will range from $199 for the 16GB model to $299 for a 32GB one.

It will also be the first iPhone to be made available with a 64GB hard drive, costing $399.

As a result, the iPhone 4 will now be reduced to $99, with an 8GB iPhone 3GS available for free on contract.

Pre orders for the iPhone 4S start on October 7, with the model launching on October 14.

After all the months of rumor, today will shine light on all our predictions with the unveiling of Apple’s next generation iPhone.It’s been more than a year since the last iPhone hit the red carpet and now it’s the iPhone 5’s time to shine.

This will be new CEO Tim Cook’s first time at center stage delivering such heady news and we can’t wait how the new guy delivers the long-awaited 5 news.  The “Let’s talk iPhone” event will be held at Apple Town Hall in Cupertino, California at 10 a.m. PDT.

Not only will this event showcase the new iPhone 5 but also unveil iOS 5 and iCloud Web service to a much-awaited audience.  There is currently no official word if the rumored iPhone 4S is real and if promises that it’s more budget-friendly are true.  There’s only one way to find out, tune in at 10am.  Yayuh. Yayuh.

What the deuce?  The iPhone 5 hasn’t even been officially announced as of yet, though October 4th is fast approaching, and there’s already a new handset auction on eBay?  Now wait just a gosh darn tootin minute.

eBay user coltsfan895 has listed an iPhone 5 on eBay Canada for you to purchase for a very steep $1,139.98.  The auction is specifically for the AT&T 32GB model with one year of Apple Care.

No specs for the phone have been listed, but the seller claims that the phone will most likely be released on October 7th 2011. No word on how he/she is going to get his/her hands on the phone, but from what I see right now, it looks like a way for the seller to make some money off naïve folks. However, the seller does have a feedback score of 530, and 99.3% positive feedback, so there’s a chance he/she isn’t pulling off a scam. Either way, we’d recommend you wait for Apple’s announcement and purchase it from an official channel instead. It’ll be safer and probably cheaper too.

Sheesh, if that’s the case, we’ll just, umm, list our own $1200 iPhone and ship in early October.  Shaking of head.

While rumors are rampant, especially with October fast approaching, this new one seems to have some merit regarding the iPhone 5 home button.  Reportedly, the upcoming iPhone 5 may not be changing the home button, the position or deign.

What you’re seeing above is an image of a part sold by a Chinese website, which if true, then the purported “expanded home button design” is outta the question.

The alleged part at this moment sells for $6.68, and hailing from China, I am not surprised to see it tout some rather promising words such as it being compatible with “iPhone 5 (5th generation)” – now how about that, considering the handset isn’t even released on the market just yet?

I doubt so – not for you, and not for most folks out there, as knowing Apple and their meticulous design roadmap, chances are whatever changes they make will end up being all the better even if it moved away from what we’ve been used to for four generations (of the device, not the human race) already.

Reportedly Deutsche Telekom has already begun taking pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 5 and now it looks like they might have been on to something with Fast Company citing a source that reveals that Apple will be launching the handset 19th or 26th of September with pre-orders starting either during that week or a week prior to those dates.

Hello!  Well, it certainly makes sense with older news that indicated the phone would be ready by the first week of October. All in all, only time will tell if this insider source is a valid one or not, but either way, look for the iPhone 5 in the next few weeks.
