While Acer’s current line of Aspire TimelineX notebooks may have you snoozing with the sheep, their newly redesigned series may just wake you from your technology stupor.

Acer has just redone their popular line of slim laptops and refreshed the experience with Sandy Bridge processors.  The new line features 13.1-inch 3830T, 14-inch 4830T, and 15.6-inch 5830T in a two-tone aluminum design as well as all black for those conservatives out there.

Of course you’ll also be tickled with your choice of Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs, and Acer’s clear.fi software for sharing media among DLNA devices.

The 14- and 15.6-inch versions have onboard optical drives and number pads, and, on select models, you can choose a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT520M or GT540M card. However, the screen resolution is going to be 1366 x 768 regardless of which you pick. The 3830T, 4830T, and 5830T are available now, starting at $799, $699, and $599, respectively, and you can find specs for a handful of models after the break.

Just in time for the 2010 holiday season Apple has unveiled the new MacBook Air that weighs in at a mere 2.9 pounds, the same weigh-in as the new Sony Vaio Z coincidentally.

It measures 0.68 inches thin and tips the scales at “just” 2.9 pounds (this is the weight of the fully-featured Sony Vaio Z). Boasting an unibody construction that Apple is famous for these days, it will feature a 13.3-inch display at 1440 x 900 resolution, SSD capability, a GeForce 320M graphics chipset, 2GB RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz processor. Prices start from $1,299 and go all the way to $1,599, depending on the amount of storage you want within.

Apple will also be introducing a new 11.6-inch version of the Air, with prices starting at $1,000.

I know, I know, that was a bummer no tethering first Monday post to leave you with so we’re going to send you over the moon with this revelation.

Apparently there is quite a buzz humming around the gadget rumor den that a 11.6-Inch Apple MacBook Air could soon be headed this way, and maybe in time for the holiday season.

Details are still quite sketchy at the moment but word  is going around that Quanta has received an order for 11.6-inch MacBooks from Apple, and shipments of this 11.6-inch MacBook are expected to top 400,000 to 500,000 units in 2010. If this rumor is true, it wasn’t immediately clear whether the 11.6-inch notebook is a MacBook or MacBook Air, the former which isn’t really due for an update and the latter which is long overdue for an update. The smart money will be on an updated MacBook Air, though there still hasn’t been any official confirmation on it yet.

Touchscreen displays aren’t just for mobiles and tablets anymore, as is evidence with the latest HP Pavilion notebook.

The new Pavilion DV6 features a touchscreen HD display that is not only pretty handy but pretty pretty as well.  The 15.6-inch laptop is more a multimedia device than anything with 1TB of storage, VGA, eSATA, HDMI, USB ports and the option or Intel or AMD processors.  Prices start at around $350.

A brand new notebook has hit Dell’s recent catalog and she doesn’t disappoint.  With an Intel Core i5 processor, 320GB hard drive, Windows 7 Home Premium OS and a starting price of $1000, we’d entertain her for an evening or two at least.  I mean, just look at that touchscreen!

The newest Latitude  is now the apparent world’s thinnest 13″ commercial client laptop.  Now how about them apples?  You weren’t expecting that were you?

With Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, optional Blu-ray external drive as well as optional WWAN wireless capability, the new Latitude certainly shines.

Hewlett-Packard’s VP of Personal Computing Systems revealed that the projectors would be placed on top of laptop screens where a webcam would traditionally be located.

We’re excited about this

Featuring a sleek 13.3″ display, 500GB hard drive, 4GB RAM and up to eight hours of battery, we’re pretty excited to see this little guy debut at the upcoming CES 2010.

This 7″ netbook won’t wow you with anything special, it’s completely bare-bones with a 800 x 480 7″ screen, 300MHz VIA VT8500 processor and 128MB of RAM.  But for under a hundred bucks, who’s complaining?

As you can see, the newest in the series has a completely different look and feel, and though there are currently no specs on this notebook, we’re all a little giddy with this leaked image where you can just barely make out a cool new hinge design.
