The Wii 2 is here and we”re loving the positive press coming in about the next generation Nintendo system.

Actually called the Wii U, the next gen Nintendo is a a controller and screen all-in-one.  Its rather interesting that they went with this approach, and we wonder who is going to be following in their giant footsteps?

Now your partner doesn’t have to complain about you monopolizing the TV anymore, with the handy dandy 6.2 inch touchscreen embedded on the controller.

Alas we’re going to have to wait until 2012 to get our greedy little mitts on the Wii U, but more good things are on the way that will stave off our cravings!

Nintendo has finally and officially put all rumors to rest, announcing the new Wii 2 which will be on shelves next year.

The Japanese video game company made the announcement after speculation persisted that the company would be unable to produce the next gen video game console any time in the future due to Japan’s earthquake and heartaches.  But Nintendo wants to allay our fears, saying that the next generation Wii will be out sometime in 2012, with an official unveiling of the Wii 2 specs at LA’s E3 from June 7-9.

So rest easy now, the Wii 2 is soon to be on its way.

The steering wheel display is, in one exemplary illustrative non-limiting implementation, displayed on a screen that is touch sensitive. The touch-sensitive functionality of the screen is used in at least some exemplary illustrative non-limiting implementations to allow the video game player to control the position of the steering wheel displayed on the screen. The displayed vehicle steering wheel position, in turn, is used to control the travel motion or direction of the vehicle being simulated. The resulting simulation provides a realistic input control interface obtainable using relatively inexpensive and compact input devices such as those available on conventional portable or other video game play and/or simulation platforms.

Around  550,000 Wiis were sold in North America alone over the weekend, but the Nintendo DS outshone the system, selling double that amount.

Nintendo has been awash with news this week and today is apparently not an exception.  The company has just announced the new colors for the DSi that is slated to reach Europe October 23, 2009.

The DSi will finally see some brightness with metallic blue, light blue and red versions of the handheld gaming system.  Which one are you in love with?

Square Enix’s Yoichi Wada believes that Nintendo will soon be rolling out a Wii successor.  Yocichi thinks that the new Wii will be around sometime in 2011 and that it will possibly include features that are already readily available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.  What do you think about that?

Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii will soon be going for a mere $199 this coming Sunday which should be good news all around.  Does this mean that the company has something new up their gadgety sleeves?

Yes, you heard it right, Club Nintendo is no longer something we have to be envious of in our overseas neighbors, we can now join in on the fun.
