Sony is all about slick new projectors these days and the VPL-VW85 is certainly no exception.

Coming to market sometime in October, the VPL-VW85 features full HD 1,920 x 1,080 resolution support, 24p True Cinema technology, 120,000:1 contrast ratio, 800 ANSI lumens brightness and a progressive Silicon X-tal Reflective Display.

So, pretty much all you need for around $8K.

Mitsubishi LVP-HC6800 Projector

The new LVP-HC6800 projector from Mitsubishi looks more UFO than projector.

This slick new gadget comes with 1,300 lumens brightness, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 20,000:1 contrast ratio and a 10-bit Reon-VX chipset.

Not too shabby at all, eh? Now if we just knew the price, then we could start planning on how many we can get.

Optoma’s HD20 Home Theater Projector

Optoma has just revealed their latest and greatest home theater projector, the HD20.

With a brightness of 1,700 ANSI lumens, full HD resolution support and a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, the HD20 sure does stand out in a crowd.

The new Optoma will retail for around $1000 and be capable of screen showing larger than 120″.

Dell 4310WX DLP Projector

Dell has just revealed and listed their newest DLP projector, the 4310WX.

With 1,280 x 800 resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio, chances are you will never leave the house again.

The new kid on the block offers up a pretty long life lamp, with up to 2500 hours if you can keep it in the Eco-Mode. The RJ45 connection for network management control allows for easy access using LAN and is even equipped with auto vertical keystone adjustment.

For $1,099 you can jump on the Dell bandwagon and feel good about it. And we didn’t even mention the password protection capability.

Mitsubishi reveals FL6900U 1080p HD projector

Mitsubishi’s latest projector is a heavy weight. The FL6900U features 1920, 1080 resolution, 4,000 ANSI lumens, an RS-232 control port, automated zoom and focus, plus digital keystroke correction, and a built-in motion sensitive anti-theft alarm system.

3M unleashes MPro110 Pocket Projector

Since January of this year 3M has been showing off a prototype for a micro projector. Now, they have announced that their prototype will go into full production and will be available worldwide on September 30th.

It’s called the MPro110 and it uses LCoS display technology to display a VGA (640×480) resolution image. It uses an LED lamp for no fan noise. It is expected to produce images that are bright enough to be seen even in a brightly lit room.

The device will retail for $359.
