A CD player was disassembled and the components rearranged to suit the layout of a phonograph. The speakers are put below the trumpet loudspeaker for amplification. The wooden box is made slightly more spacious then the electrical PCB board needed to achieve bass resonance.

The laser pointer is shifted to the top allowing the spin of the CD to be clearly shown.

The very old-school company Brionvega that makes televisions has come up with a special TV in terms of design, it is simply called Alpha TV and as you can see per the image it has a very retro style, sadly it seems like it is only a concept so far.

Designed by V12 Design – it has a fine retro feel of curved chrome, a cool orange color scheme and a chunky metal vintage-style remote control.

Besides the actual remote control it also features a DVD player located on its base which means that the retro detail is only on the style and not on the specifications.

I need to admit an addiction to good looking radios, and the Crosley Vintage is one of them. It is not the first time we talk about this old-school radio company, remember the Explorer 1 XM Receiver?

Anyway, the retro design of this radio is notable, it even has the trippy controls and small radio frequency display on the front. There is a mix of technology in this device, because the outside looks old, but the inside is high-tech with an electronically assisted tuner and a dynamic full-range speaker.

Obviously it features AM and FM functions, and to get a better signal reception there is an external antenna.

Made in China during the 80’s, the DiscoLite is a cool Boombox that even Madonna used in a video clip called Hung Up.

It is a shame the DiscoLite image isn’t too clear so we can enjoy the retro design, but nonetheless we can still check the black case + gold controls, and the 4 different LED lights that get it on whenever the music starts playing.

In this Boombox there is space for a 7-band equalizer to adjust the sound, and to listen to some music there are 2 options: the twin tape system or the radio (AM/FM/SW1/SW2).

Hmmm, kind of strange to talk about this but it’s fun and never seen before, so here it goes:

A last century gadget that creates the ability to pat back yourself, created in 1986 by Ralph R. Piro.

At first I thought this item was suppose to be used by people that have a hard time coughing, but after researching for a while I came to the conclusion that the main purpose is to serve as a manually operated self-congratulatory device.

This should be great to use during an exam at university, I would pat back myself so hard and so many times that in my mind the final note would be 21 out of 20.

The inventive unit is easily disassembled and reassembled both for transport and for concealment from early discovery until ready for use.

My old-school stereo set still has the ability to play the old tapes, but in case you don’t have a system like that and want to remember the 80’s era by listening to that tape you bought years ago featuring your favorite pop singer, this is the deck you need.

So, with no experience at all to create Modern-Hippe parties, I found some stuff that should be a good start to light up that party at your house.

1. The first gadget would be the Guitar neon-sign to give the hippie music feeling. If you would like to get more neon-signs, there are other shapes like the Cocktail Glass that also has the hippies in mind. Route66 and Flamingo are the other 2 signs available.

2. The next thing we need is an element to increase the sensations and to get that rolling I picked a Bubble Machine with 25W of power. You’ll have bubbles till the end of days, but make sure to pick the right liquid or else the bubbles will be awful.

3. One of the most important elements in a party are the glasses, and the drinking. A normal glass wouldn’t make justice for such a good party, but a flashing Shot-Glass with a red LED light is perfect.
To make the light work you’ll need to bang the glass on a table and the effect will last 10 seconds. I guess the plan is something like: drink a shot, bang the glass, stare at the glass and hallucinate.

4. To give the house another “feeling”, to change the atmosphere of the spot you will need a big plasma that transmits orange lights. Consider it as an add-on to trip yourself and hallucinate even more. True hippie style if you know what I’m saying…

5. The final touch has to be personalized, an original approach will make your 4 stars party become a 5 stars party hit.
