<p>Right it down ladies and gentlemen.  October 27th, 2008 is officially the day the VCR died.  </p>
<p>I know &#8211; you probably haven&#8217;t thought about the VCR in a very long time. Maybe not even this century &#8211; but JVC was holding on for dear life.  They actually just stopped producing stand alone players yesterday.</p>
<p>For those of you that still have a large library of VHS tapes, and you&#8217;re afraid your player is going to be dust soon &#8211; then you might want to go out and buy a VHS player while supplies last.  </p>
<p>You&#8217;ll also see VHS/DVD player combos still in production for the time being, but their days are numbered too.  </p>
