Whether you’re going to be standing in line tomorrow for your Apple iPad or you’re one of the luck pre-orderers, you’re going to need the Apple iBook app, and it’s free of course, so no worries about saving an extra dough.

Apple’s iBook app is already available in the App Store and is basically their answer to Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Head on over and take a peek, it might just be more addictive than my Netflix queue.

Apple iPhone App Store Slowing

After eight months of solid application submissions and approvals, the Apple iTunes App store is beginning to show a decline in the number of apps added to the site.

The App store will hit around 300,000 apps for the iPhone and iTouch Thursday, but the trend is slowing due to delays in approval of applications by Apple as well as complaints from developers.

According to Apple 2.0, developers are receiving delayed payments from Apple as well as delays in the apps themselves, which adds to the gradual slowing of new apps to the iTunes store.

I guess we’ll just have to wait on yet another emoticon app.

Facebook Connect iPhone Application

Last weekend not only revealed the new Facebook design but also Facebook Connect, an iPhone application that allows app developers to connect their applications to the facebook site. Pretty handy.

Facebook users can already log into their account via the free Facebook iPhone or iTouch app, but Connect will serve as the proverbial glue to allow other apps to exchange information on the social networking site.

Kayak.com Launches iPhone App

Finally, the long-awaited Kayak.com iPhone application is here and ready to be used by travelers worldwide.

Now with just the tap of a touch screen, iPhone and iTouch users can access and search 200 travel sites for flight rates and availability.

The app is now up for grabs at the iTunes store and is absolutely free.

Developer Zumobi has just released the official American Idol iPhone application for season 8.

The $1.99 Apple app was built around exclusive interviews as well as behind-the-scene footage and is one great app.

The new application also features a buzz section with news, updates and blogs.

Amazon’s New Kindle E-Reader iPhone App

Well, it looks like you might have to think long and hard before you spend $359 on a Kindle II, as Amazon has just released a new iPhone e-reader app that will have you happy all over.

The new Apple iPhone application will sync in perfectly with any and all reading material you purchase through the Kindle store. Oh, and did we mention the new app is free?

Now the iPhone certainly doesn’t hold water to the 16 grays used on the Kindle, but when you’re strapped for cash, this will do just fine.

Apple Rejects South Park iPhone Application

It’s a sad day around the world when Apple iTunes Store rejects a South Park iPhone application.

The new South Park app was rejected by Apple due to “potentially offensive content.” South Park app offensive? Nah!

The app was to feature direct links to downloadable South Park videos and wallpapers.

What a sad, sad day.

iGoogle Apps Showing Their Social Side

It seems like every application these days is offering up some social on the side, and iGoogle is no different.

The new iGoogle gadgets like the My Google Book Search Library app will now not only let you search and add books to your digital library, but will also give you the option to have OpenSocial profiles.

With the new app you can let other users know who you are and be able to access your profile if you so choose, as well as posting updates to your Friends groups. Seems like iGoogle is going full throttle social.
