First 400X 128GB CF Card Announced

Silicon Power has recently announced the creation of the first 400X 128GB CF card in the world.

While we’ve been hedging our bets against SD camera cards over CF cards, we didn’t think it would be this soon. There is no word as of yet on pricing but you know that isn’t going to come cheap!

So, the Nikon D3 SLR Digital Camera is looking pretty sweet we have to say.

Professional photographers are weighing in on the new camera and giving some pretty high marks for the sensor cleaning as well as the built-in RAW processing, though the word on the street is that the 102400 ISO is great, if you like lots of noise that is.

Average cost around $5,000.

With 12.2-megapixels and a handy dandy 4x optical zoom, this digital gadget is the perfect companion for water and theme parks as well as outdoorsy vacations. Cost, $200 and will come in both grey and red color options.

Ricoh CX2 Digital Camera

While Ricoh’s new CX2 Digital Camera still comes with the same 9.29Mp CMOS sensor as the earlier model CX1, the newest addition to the CX units has be given a better optical zoom and better auto-focus and face-recognition.

With an optical zoom of 10.7x, compared with 7.1x with the CX1, the CX2 will have you shooting left and right. Ricoh has also given the new model a high contrast B&W setting along with a Miniaturize mode which will blur the areas around your photo to give you a different depth of field.

All in all we’re pleased with the new CX2, and looking forward to coming up with the $500 to buy it.

Canon Rebel XSi 450D DSLR Camera Unboxing

Well, we finally took the plunge and got ourselves a nice new digital SLR camera. We know we’re a little bit behind the times, but better late than never, right? We chose the base level Canon Rebel XSi 450D for our purposes and have not been let down yet.

First impressions of the 12.2-megapixel DSLR are quite positive, especially with the Live View Shooting option which allows you to view your subjects via LCD monitor rather than relying on the viewfinder, but this function is only available using one of the five ‘Creative Zone’ modes so be prepared for that. I mean, who even remembers how to use a viewfinder anyway?

With an extra large 3.0-inch LCD display you will always be able to see what you’re taking a shot of and how well it turned out. The wide angle is perfect for capturing low-light situations if you’re like us and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a flash.

The DIGIC III image processor is fast and accurate, and leaves nothing to be desired. With the XSi you will also enjoy improved autofocus as well as framing rate, which is a bonus over previous base level digital SLR Canons.

All in all, it’s a great piece of machinery that comes complete with a separate Spanish language instruction manual.
