With the launch of Microsoft’s search engine Bing a few months ago, we’re starting to wonder if you’re using this new kid on the block.

We gave the new SE a go and discovered that unless you’re using Bing for images or videos, Google far out wins the web search competition in maps, news and shopping.

Now it’s your turn, are you using it and have you converted?

Microsoft Bing Will Code for Green Contest

Microsoft is inviting all you smart developers and coders to participate in an app contest for their new Bing searchengine. The Will Code for Green Contest has recently been announced and already it looks like they have received some entries.

Entries must be compatible with Bing’s APIs as well as using a how-to-live-in-an-eco-friendly-corporate-world theme. Pretty specific, eh?

Winners will be chosen at the Gnomedex in August, so go get programming!

Microsoft To Reveal New Search Engine Today

Microsoft is planning to reveal their new search engine to the public at large today.

The word on the street is that they’re calling the new search engine Bing, but maybe they should have just called it Google Hater.

Microsoft plans on spending upwards around $100 million on advertising the new engine, so here’s hoping that it will be a bada-bing kind of SE.

It Pays To Use New Search Engine Oparla

While Google clearly dominates the world of search engines with a huge margin, it might just be time for a new player. Move over ASK and Yahoo, Oparla is coming at you beta style.

The new search engine Oparla is just leaving the beta stage for hopefully center stage, but in the meantime, they’re offering up cold cash for you to give them a try.

All you have to do is sign up, use their service to search and you’ll build up a cash tally that you can can eventually transfer to your banking account. Sounds like a plan, but will cash overturn Google?
